Coating wearing off

Just wanted to advise that after about several months with the M7, the oleophobic coating wears off on areas of the touchscreen used most frequently. On mine, it is the areas around the capacitive buttons, most noticeably the back button where there is a circular haze. It will wipe off no problem with a microfiber cloth, but just comes back with pressing it again. I have tried all the recommendations, such as synthetic and carnauba car waxes and Rain-x, but these do not really help.

I suppose the only solution is a screen protector.

Anybody else noticing this?

Thanks for the info. I've only had my device for 6 weeks but and I don't use a screen protector. After reading this I think maybe I should.

Been using mine for a year and I have not noticed any wear on mine. I do notice that it is a fingerprint magnet.
