NO.

But it also might help us to know what carrier your referring to.
Sprint? T-Mobile? Verizon? AT&T.
Im on T-Mobile and i know of 1 part of town that has bad LTE coverage and my device will switch just fine when i go in and out of that particular area.
Also after calls it will go back to LTE just fine.

I'm on AT&T. I have to toggle all the time to get LTE back. I understand this happens alot on all the other carriers and with many android phones along with IPhone. Don't know why I have to do this. I've had the sim card replaced.

I know the Sprint M8 recently had an urgent update to address voice and network connectivity issues.
My TMO M8 is working great with LTE.
I dont recall seeing much discussion about devices not being able to hold LTE.. so it could be a bad device or an AT&T M8 issue..
Hopefully someone else an chime in.. specifically with an ATT unit.
