LTE Speeds?
So for those that got a Vivid and are in an LTE market, what speeds are you seeing?

Re: LTE Speeds?
I was in an area between Baltimore and DC and got over 44 Mb/s using the speakeasy speed test on the browser. Dont quite remember the upload speeds though.

Re: LTE Speeds?
Just tested the Vivid inside the AT&T store in downtown Chicago. Speedtest never topped 2.5Mbit/sec download. The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket next to it was similarly slow. Both averaged about 2Mbit/sec. The Atrix 2 and Focus S next to them (both HSPA+ phones) were getting about 1Mbit/sec average. So the LTE phones were faster but still rather slow.

Speeds are going to be high until people start to big down the network. They just released their first LTE phones so there isn't a lot of traffic now.

Re: LTE Speeds?
Well, the technology is there and it works. Overselling the crap out of it is another story all together.
Don't really care that much about 40mb data speeds on my phone anyhow. I just want it to work reasonably well when I need it. At some point, fast enough is fast enough. Your not going to get the data that fast from most servers anyhow.
Besides, what's the point really in all the carriers giving us super fast data then tell us we can only use it sparingly or we go over our limits. We are all a bunch of suckers with this whole data thing. Really, if you think about it we are taking it all the way they want, hook, line and sinker!
Nice to know I can go really fast if I want to give a lot of money to my carrier for overage fees.
In the end, it only works for me because I am on WiFi most of the time anyhow.

Re: LTE Speeds?
I have been on the bandwagon for a long time but I left ATT about a year ago for Sprint. Data network on Sprint was miserable in my area. So, unlimited data seems pointless when the network sucks. Yeah! Unlimited attempts at trying to access a freakin' website when I need info in a hurry.. Not fun. Back int he day, Sprint had the best data network in my area, not the case anymore.
Anyhow, got fed up with Sprint and took the easy out of my 4 lines of service when they made a change to their contract a while back. Moved back to AT&T but I am on tiered data now.
