bluetooth speaker destroyed my sound

I just got a small bluetooth speaker for christmas. Ever since I paired with the speaker for the first time any video on my phone as well as my alarm has no sound unless it is paired with the speaker. It has already made me late for work once. I have done everything I can think of to fix it. HELP!!!

Have you tried unpairing and then leaving it unpaired? And then set your alarm for 5 minutes from then and see if it goes off.
