Default Is rooting worth it for this phone?

I have a bare minimum of apps installed:
    Gmail
    Kobo
    Missed Call Reminder
    QR Droid
    SMS Popup
    Google Translate

With only those installed I have 56mb of free space. Will rooting and getting rid of the bloatware on my phone free up enough memory to make it worth it? Roughly how much memory can be freed up?
I am seriously considering just going back to the Optimus V.

    Thanks for any help!

I will say that Titanium Backup Pro is enough reason for rooting.

Rooting will get rid of the bloatware and make great room for things like MEDIA! Pictures, Music (if you don't stream all your favs thru a service) and many other wonderful app experiences you may be missing out on. But if your aren't comfortable with the process of rooting your phone, then don't do it.
You have to consider what your needs are, and what you want your phone to do before you root. I maintain my youngest son's Wildfire S (non-rooted) with more apps than you have. I went to settings> applications>manage apps> and hit the Clear Cache & Clear Data buttons on all apps he DOES NOT USE.
That will "zero mgb " them out. Once these are "zero'ed out don't open them up. Have a good system maintainence app that will task kill, clear history & clean app caches to keep the avail. memory clear. A good file manager will help you too. Go explore the possibilities and enjoy! You are a droid owner so you don't have to miss out on anything anymore!

And you gotta download a WiFi tether AOL like barnacle once rooted. Its crazy how fast the hotspot on your phone becomes. That sute tether HTC offers sucks.

    I bought a fast Class 10
    8GB microSD card
and I divided it into 3 partitions:
    1st-FAT32 - size any
    2nd-Ext4 - not more than 2GB
    3rd-Linux Swap - mine is 512MB
    All primary

    And I install custom ROM
    all works like dream.
Since then, in my HTC Wildfire S is enough free space.
