[GUIDE/VIDEO] Root Gingerbread on your Incredible 2 (2.3.3 ONLY!)

So I finally decided to give rooting a shot only to find out that now I cant since I have 2.3.4. I did see a thread about downgrading to 2.3.3 and it looks fairly straightforward. Has anyone in this thread done that process?

. I just did the downgrade the other day and it is fairly simple, just follow the steps

Yep I did it and it is indeed really simple to do. I am currently giving Virtuous Unity 2.39 a shot, and have download MIUI to try out as well.

When I enter my Beta key then hit enter, it says "Zerging root...this might take a minute or so..." for like 3 minutes then it says "Failed to get root!"

idk why, help me! My phone is 2.3.3

You put in the correct serial number that was found and followed all the steps I assume. Double check everything to make sure it is setup correctly before proceeding. One little thing that is off can cause it to fail.

Yes I did.

I tried it again and it just said "Zerging root...this might take a minute or so..." for like 10 minutes straight

Hmm thats weird. Did you downgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.3.3?? And I am sorry for this, but you did select the correct phone model on the Revolutionary site right?

*edit* Also have you made sure you HBOOT is indeed .97??

I was never 2.3.4, I'm currently 2.3.3. I read the wiki, and I selected the correct phone model. By HBoot if you mean on the Revolution website then yes, its the only one there

EDIT:3 days later i decided to try it again and it worked!

EDIt2: God dammit SuperUser isn't in the app tray

EDIT3: Well I downloaded BloatFreezer and its letting me use it so I guess it worked!

Everytime I click on the superuser.zip download link it just takes me to their website and isn't letting me download it. Just keeps refreshing. I went ahead and downloaded their zip software thinking that would let me do it. No luck. Why can't i download the superuser zip file? THanks.
