Car Dock?

Does anyone have any info on when this will be out? What is the normal wait time between phone release and car dock? I know the N1 took like 4 months, but the Moto Droid was nearly the same release date.

I'd be happy if all the flagship phones came with a car dock and a multimedia dock..

There's one out now at Verizon. I picked it up, it's nice. The detachable belt clip is a nice touch.

I was just at the Verizon Wireless website. Nothing for the D.I on their accessories list.

yeah I haven't seen the Incredible car dock anywhere online yet - maybe hailpurdue found one in an actual store?

arkon makes some kick *** universal ones that gently cradle the phone while it's still in whatever case you have on it. MUCH better option IMO

I saw it today. Not my cup of tea though. Its a combination dock/holster.
If you like having a plastic belt holster that you can mount, well this is for you. As for me, I will keep om looking.:rolleyes:

I'm waiting on ProClip to release their holder for the DI. That way I have a custom fit solution for my car. Prices are bad either you may want to keep an eye on them. I emailed them yesterday about time frame, and obviously said they didn't have one but it would be soon. So hopefully within a few weeks.

+1 on Proclipusa.com car mounts. They make mounts specific to your car and device. It's quality stuff, have used it for years. I'm probably just going to get the universal small device holder instead of waiting for the release for the DI.

Proclips are nice - if you don't mind the limited places you can mount them in your car

This is the only thing I miss about my droid. Having the car and home docks. I'm sure they will be coming out though, minus the automatic apps probably though.

That's nonsense. As I posted in that thread, I've had mine on many different surfaces, and haven't had any response issues. I even grabbed a cheap universal gripper mount and stuck it to my windshield and it still works perfectly. Gonna try styrofoam and fiberglass tomorow at work because I don't have any handy here, but so far I've put my phone on metal, wood, plastic, carpet, microfiber, glass, carbon fiber, a computer, another cell phone, the dog, and the gripper, and not a single variance in responsivness.

I have a generic scosche car dock, and no problems! I can reproduce your effect on styrofom, but how many times do u dial on a foam cup! This isn't a incredible only problem, i have read reports of other touchscreen phones doing this, and it ends up being a non issue, unless u have a foam desk dock.......This bothers me not at all! I will loose no sleep!

I couldn't agree more, I've seen no difference no matter where I set it at. I believe if something like this was going on, HTC would see it. Not to mention if something like this was going on it would mean you need to be grounded to use your phone and the phone back would need a strap. I have yet to find a strap.

The verizon dock is OK, however you need to remove any case from your phone which is a pain. the akron will work with other phones as well and is cheaper.

Do the Arkon universal car docks swivel? They look pretty nice and are cheap (and available now). Plus I like the idea that I can leave my case on the phone while it's in the dock.

My only question is does the holder swivel so that I can have the phone in both landscape and portrait? If anyone has used these in the past it should be a pretty simple but important answer. Thanks!
