    Default Windshield/Dash Mount?

I hate the generic dash/windshield mounts. I love the device specific DROID and Nexus1 Dash Mounts where the device actually snaps in instead of being tension mounted like the one I have now. I am really getting tired of my incredible falling out of the one I have and it only mounts portrait, not landscape.

Anyone know when they will release one specific to the Incredible? I don't care what it costs, I need one!

Or at very least some suggestions on where to find one that actually works!

Sorry man. no idea...keep waiting. I'm sure it's in the same development line as the desktop charging cradle. Whenever that gets released...

Amazon.com: Arkon Windshield Suction Console, Dash and Vent Mount for Universal Phone, Smartphone and PDA (Black): Cell Phones & Service

This is what I use. It is perfect for the Incredible. Allows portrait and landscape and is setup perfectly so that no ports are blocked on the phone.

Do you know if it blocks the camera lens by any chance?

If you have it all the way down in the cradle then it blocks it ever so slightly. All you would have to do is slide the phone up slightly and then lock into place. This is truly the best mount I have ever owned. It is well constructed, has a very solid suction cup and works great.

I have the one you are seeking in my car right now. It was given to me by my brother who left for the Evo. He bought it at the verizon store. When I was in the Verizon store I saw ones for the moto droid but they must have been out of the one for the inc.

I like it but I don't like having to take off my innocase to use it. I will be getting my car back soon which has the generic kind in it which works better for me since it works with the case on.

I know what you mean though snapping in is better because it won't come flying out if you stop suddenly.

I wanted to wait for the Seidio dock. But today I bought the vzw one. It is ok Portrait or landscape work well. Used it as a dash cam for a bit! Having to take my innocase off to put it in the dock, is a bit of a bummer but I spent most of the day today in the car and it was nice to have it docked. Put the GPS thru its paces today. Toggling between GPS phone via BT in my car and email all to resume GPS with the flick of a finger is such a quantum leap forward from BB days.

I love this phone...can't you tell?
    Cheers!

Can you see if there is a part number on there at all? Any way to get you to post pictures? I was told at my local VZW Store that such a device does not yet exist.

That looks like what I am after. Can you confirm the device snaps in and isn't tension mounted? It looks kind of like the droid arm in the commercials.

I just spent $40 on a mount that totally blows... it faces weird (angled slightly away from me and up), can't really be adjusted, and doesn't lock into place. This would be fine if my vents were so weirdly shaped (Mazda 3). In California, the windshield suction ones are illegal though, so I'm kind of stuck with it. But it's better than no mount at all.

I wonder why they are illegal. That seems dumb.

These posters are all talking about the same mount....The one on the HTC site is the same one you will find in the VZW Store.
    Cheers!

I also have an Arkon mount. Not the windshield or dash mount, but it uses the same cradle. I have no issues with it at all. Very well built and very sturdy.

Ya I hope it is a snap in and not a tension one. That is what I am looking for too.

They already have a mount made especially for the incredible, just go to the Verizon store, it's 28 bucks. Message me if you want a picture of it. it's pretty nice too, because it doubles as a belt clip...i don't use covers or protectors.

They're not illegal in California, they can only be mounted in 2 different positions on the entire windshield though. It has to be either on the drivers bottom 1/4 of the windshield or the passengers bottom 1/4, rather lame, otherwise you are stuck with a dash mount.
