Default 1500mAH which is Fake or Real?

With all the 1500mAH batteries people are buying, how do you know if what you bought a real 1500mAH battery from HTC or not?

Well, I purchase a HTC 1500mAH from an ebay vendor with a 98% feedback rating. I was skeptical, but the price was low enough to try it out and see if it really is legit. Well, he sold me a fake HTC battery. How do I know? Read on.

True 1500mAH batteries have the following information:
    - Part no.: 35H00123-00M (or 03M or 22M some xxM)
    - Model: RHOD160
    - mAH: 1500mAH
    - Whr: 5.55Whr

The first RHOD160 1500mAH battery I bought from eBay (bidallies) was legit. All the watermarks, numbers, and fonts match up. Lastly, it works way better than the stock battery and at least as good (if not better than) the Seidio 1750mAH.

Now, this other guy on ebay (orange_chan101) is supposedly selling the RHOD160 battery for less than $8 US. However, some of the numbers don't match up (while it's printed RHOD160 and 1500mAH on this battery).
    1. the part no is 35H00125-07M
    2. the Whr is rated at 4.07Whr
    3. the font is different

Part no 3500125-07M is for the 1100mAH battery from HTC, and 4.07Whr = 1100mAH.

    Take the Whr/#Volts = mAH. 4.07Whr/3.7V = 1100mAH

I hope this helps. I've attached three images depicting what I'm talking about.

This is the one I'm using and it's working great. You also can't beat the fact that it's only $5 shipped. Takes about a week and a half to be delivered though (ships from Hong Kong).

I ordered two of the 1500MaH the day after I bought my phone, glad i did. I got them from a company on ebay that is in Hong Kong, hk_plaza. They quotes 21 days for shipping and I go them in 13 days. What I got was the two batteries and a wall charger, I have noticed that when the batteries have been charged by the wall charger they hold a charge much better than the included outlet charger that came with the phone, and the 1500M batteries are great. I know have three batteries and never worry about keeping my phone charged. As you look through the list of batteries make sure you get the batteries labeled with the HTC logo, my batteries are actually for the HTC HD2.

Blast, can you post pictures of the battery with the actual labels? That's a great deal if they're legit HTC batteries.

EDIT: found the deal Blast was talking about. They're generic batteries from what I saw. Attached is an image from their auction. Again, the Whr is rated at 4.07, and the mAH is 1500. Impossible by simple physics.

wow, looks legit since it says "HTC Innovation"
Wait, look again! 4.07Whr and 1500mAH? Impossible

People, the point of this post is to inform people of the products they buy. If you're ok with generic batteries great. But please be sure to indicate whether or not your links, recommendations, eBay sellers, etc are selling generic or genuine HTC batteries.

You are correct, that is the exact batteries I have. What kind of performance differences are you seeing between the different batteries you have purchased?
All I know is the amount of hours of use differs greatly between my stock 1300M and the 1500M batteries, I never even use the stock battery anymore. I have several friends that have also purchased the Incredible and I have suggested they also purchase additional batteries, I will watch your posts to know how to direct them.

Well, the fake battery that I have definitely doesn't last as long as the real HTC 1500 that I purchased. I'll give it a couple more days, but I feel like they may be old cells, cheap cells, or whatever cells that aren't quite up to par? Maybe it is the same cells? Whatever it is, I'm not getting quite 1500mAH out of the fake battery.

It is, however, better than the 1300mAH battery by a small margin. Again, this could just be anecdotal, usage variation experience on my end.

I have one of the 'Real' 1500mah batteries but when I put it in the phone, the phone will not boot up or charge. Anyone ever heard of this? Any suggestions?

I ordered these at launch and I dont really like them. For the price I shouldn't complain but my original 1200 mil battery last longer. So I just took one of the battery and put it in the office and one in my car as back up,

Does anyone know if this battery will work on the incredible. This the the same guy on eBay that the OP was talking about.

I ordered a pair of batteries and a charger from the same source as Bark8015. $10 including shipping. Clearly they are not original HTC batteries nor are they advertised as such. My experience, after running them through a couple of 20% to 100% cycles, is that they significantly outperform the stock battery (not saying much I know). I would rarely be above 60% with the stock at this point in the day (about 9 hrs since unplugged, 3 hours awake With one of these, I'm at 80%.

But, as they say, caveat emptor, your mileage may vary.

Hahaha. I didn't even notice that. I glanced at the photo and saw "FOR: HTC Droid Eris". The description clearly says "Generic" for both the charger and batteries, though.

By the way, how long did yours take to arrive? I ordered mine on the 10th, and still haven't received them yet.

drPheta - is this the battery you ordered?

I just want to make sure. For only $14.95 shipped it seems like a much better purchase than the 1750 by Seido for $40! - I could get 3 of these and be bulletproof for the day for only $5 more than 1 Seido.

Yup, that's the guy I bought it from, as well. I know there are other sellers on ebay that sell legit HTC batteries for the same price. Just make sure the description indicates so.

Sorry, don't remember exactly how long it took, but I think it was less than a week -- I remember being surprised at how quickly it came.

I'd be willing to wager they ship in batches, and you ordered just before a shipment went out.

The last thing I ordered out of Hong Kong took about 16 calendar days.

e: For those interested, the price has to $9.99 and still has free shipping.

e2: Wouldn't you know it? I just got home and it came in today's mail.

I've had these for a few days and I can say that the battery life is slightly better than the stock, so the 1500mAh rating is probably accurate. I've had no real issues to speak of, although it's a pain to remove the case just to swap batteries.

BUT, this past weekend I put in a fully charged 1500 battery in about 9PM on Friday, kept wifi on and mostly stayed around the house and I had 8% battery left when I swapped it out on Monday morning at 6:30. No charging at all during that time frame. Weekends are low phone use for me, but I did use it to check all of my email (4 accounts), some minimal web surfing and a couple of phone calls. I can't do that with the stock battery. I'd be lucky to get to noon on Sunday, even with such low usage.

The auction above has expired, but has been and is still available for 9.99 shipped. Shipping on mine took about 2 weeks (Cincinnati area).

Note: this is not a genuine HTC battery, but it's not advertised as such either. But for this price, the convenience is worth it.

DrPheta thank you for the battery info.

ezun thanks for finding and posting the ebay link here for the battery. I ordered one battery from this seller and the battery lasted me for 12 hours on a moderate to heavy usage. I like the batteries performance so much that I ordered another one a couple of days ago. I hope I get the same performance from this new battery I am waiting on.

I had the 2150mah battery from VZ and returned the battery. I was only getting 15 hours out of the battery with the same usage. So, I did the math and decided to buy another of the 1500mah from the same seller and I can't complain about the price.

I also bought one of those 2 battery and 1 external charger deal from ebay and those batteries only last me about 5 hours of use. So now I just use the external battery charger to charge my battery.

    Thanks guys.
