How to get a: White or Red Battery Cover for your Incredible

I have a Captivate, but I saw today and thought you guys would like to know:

Last weekend, we saw a few images of a HTC Droid Incredible in white. However, as we pointed out in the article, no white version of the HTC Droid Incredible is in production. Instead, users have the option to turn their devices white and even red simply by changing the original black battery cover with new plate. The new red and white battery covers are officially made by HTC.

Now, you must be wondering how and where to get these new official HTC red and white back plates for your own HTC Droid Incredible. Unfortunately, the only way to get them at the moment is to have your local Verizon Wireless store representative special order them for you with the following codes:

White Back Cover: VZW6300DORW

Red Back Cover: VZW6300DORR

We’re pretty sure these official HTC battery covers for the HTC Droid Incredible will become available in stores in the months ahead thought. Though we completely understand if you can wait that long.

Let us know what you think, and be sure to let us know if you manage to get one the white or red covers. Heck, send us a photo of it if you want.

But the front part of the phone case will still be black... I'm not thinking this is going to look as good as the pic here, as the pic seems to be of a phone with a white front bezel as well...

Isn't that how the white Evo is? White on back and still black in the front? I didn't care for the look of that too much

For those of you not rocking a case, how does the edge of the incredible hold up? I'm trying to refer to the shiny black part that wraps around the screen. I am asking this because I want to get the white back and not use a case anymore, but I like to sell my phones in pretty good shape when I move onto other devices.

So far so good. I've dropped it a few times and no issues. I've put some scuffs on the 3500 back but they smoothed out quickly and replacements are only like $12 or $15 so I'm not worried about the back. The front and sides are holding up well.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I utilize a screen protector so I'm not worried about the screen and I could careless about the back really because I don't mind the minor scratches that will come from not using a case...I just don't want the re-sale value hurt too much. I'll probably go with the white back and no case then when LTE comes out I'll throw the black battery door back on and sell for a nice price...hopefully.

I have a screen protector too. Seidio on mine. Zagg on the Wife's. I know there's debate on if it's needed, but...

BTW. Thanks again to Tony BOD for the Zagg Youtube video. I can't believe I paid Best Buy $7 to put one on the first time.

Got my white cover today. I like the look of it on the phone, but I'm going to give it a couple of days to see if I like the black/white contrast on the sides of the phone. I would love to get an all-white version, with the edges of the front white as well.
