after step 6 above, i get an error saying no known directory found... any ideas/help?

thanks.

PS. i continued to do the ls -1 (step 7) and it shows both the -org and .ko file... but both says root. I know one of them should say shell... any ideas? I rebooted and i wasn't able to connect to my wifi at all. It kept on saying "not able to turn on wifi" or something along those lines. haha sorry i'm a noob at this.

thanks

no, i just did it the original way tho and got everything to work fine.

how did you fix/do it? after everything, i see both files on the modules folder but i'm still not able to turn on the wifi....

it says root on both file though... i noticed that one should say shell

I got wireless N to work. However, my wifi tether isn't working now. Anyone notice this or experience this?

im guessing that your laptop isnt wireless N capable? by doing this hack and getting wireless n it also means you tether in...... wireless N :)

i'll upload the original file and just repeat the same steps to go back

I got it to load fine on the cmd side, but after I rebooted my wifi does not work at all. it says "Unable to start wi-fi" I am going to try using the original file and see if I can go back/fixes it.

I get stuck on step 6, I get "no such file or directory". stumped

I get 11.29/1.09 on the wireless G now. My connection is actually a 30/2 connection. If you internet isn't faster than G speeds and you aren't large file transfer happy between devices there is no reason to do this, not bashing anyone who did just putting some numbers out there for people to compare with.
