Re: CyanogenMod 6 port for the Incredible
Cant wait to try

problems I seen:
*Camera doesn't work
*Sometimes it seemed to lag when trying to do something, but not to often.
*Contacts FC's
*Says CDMA-64 instead of Verizon Wireless, easy fix though
*Graphical issues, artifacts when click buttons, clicking a text field, and animations in the task bar and other areas. Little black lines show up across the area, not horrible like you cant see stuff, but annoying but they only stick around for a second and go away
*some acore FC
*cant see SD card
One good thing I did notice, it restored all my apps after a few minutes after putting it on there. Seemed pretty fast for the most part, but I restored my backup after trying it for about 20 mins and really didn't get to far into it. Will try another build when things get better. - 07-09-2010, 09:55 AM #5
SD Card issue was fixed last night. Koush should be releasing the fix today. It is a VERY snappy ROM. I got 46 MFLOPS on Linpack on 3g. For the most part it is stable but keep in mind it is infact a nightly build and is not supported. Just like 5.0.8. Also keep in mind the first 20-30 minutes or so will be laggy at times. The reason is that it's syncing all your apps and info and things of that nature. Give it time, even if the sync icon is not present it will still be syncing. After everything is synced it will be VERY snappy.

Love this - downloading now.

This is the best news I've heard in awhile going to have to download and give it a try.

As soon as the camera is fixed I'm switching to it for good. I'm getting 45ish scores on Linpack. Everything is blazing fast

My stock linpack score was only like a 5-6 range. So those scores seem really interesting. Even with an overclocked kernel with JIT enabled I was only getting 11-12. So humm, not so sure if the app isn't calculating right because it's messed up due to JIT in 2.2? Or maybe I did something wrong, guess we will find out.
Can't wait to give it a go, need to wait a bit longer for it to mature up a bit.
Top device running this is a 1152MHz Incredible and it registers 45.876MFLOPS running Cyanogen 2.2. There is a couple registered that hight too. hummm....Last edited by Qazme; 07-09-2010 at 01:43 PM.

As Quazme said, around 5-6. Even the leanest 2.1 ROMs are only scoring around 12ish with JIT enabled. Now, that being said, I'm not saying CM6 runs 8x better/faster by any means, but there's a noticeable improvement over stock. I've also found that CM5 runs much smoother than stock too, but I was only getting 3.5-5ish scores.

Can anyone post a link to this build? I am going to try rooting my phone for the first time tonight.

I think they only way you can get that right now is to have the paid version of ROM manager? Haven't seen it anywhere else, it's cheap....supports the dev for these kick *** builds, and makes your life easier. Look up ROM manager in the market and purchase it, it's cheap.

Yep. However, benchmarks don't have anything to do with daily usage. The Inc runs phenomenal now. Can't imagine what it's going to be like with Froyo
Also, I'll throw in another +1 for Rom Manager Premium. I wasn't as concerned with having all the nightly builds as supporting an amazing dev. - 07-10-2010, 10:40 PM #18
Supporting dev +1. Everyone should support a dev that supports us and gives us what we ask for! The Inc does run really well now, but the way I understand it with 2.2 you will only see an increase in speed in things that are wrote to take advantage of JIT. Which isn't everything, and the general speed of the OS is about the same, it's mainly apps and widgets that will see the speed. I'm still questioning if the JIT may be throwing the scores a good bit, because I could see maybe doubling the score but not 10x more. 6-9 to 12-18 would seem reason able, but 40+, something doesn't smell right. I hope I'm wrong though!

Please help me! I rooted my Incredible with the under 10 minutes version from youtube. I've taken all the updates and clockwork mod files that i had previously saved on my SD card and flashed clockwork again and tried to install CM6 several times and it just refuses to let me flash it. What's even worse is it won't let me flash a nandroid backup. Someone please help.

I have dl the CM6 from ROM Manager, did Nandroid backup, full wipe, then install zip from sd card. It starts unzipping the file then I get a "installation aborted" message. It says "Can't open /sdcard/cm_inc-07092010-013513.zip (bad) Installation aborted. Please open ROM Manager to report the issue." When I dl the file it had a .zip.tmp so I deleted the .tmp ext and just left it as .zip. I am of course using ClockworkMod. Am I missing something or doing something wrong. I am using HTC Incredible with v. 2.1 update 1 now. Thanks for all your help and hard work.
