Does wiping lose root?

Hi guys, thanks for all the help today. Now that I have achieved root via unrevoked 3 flash, I was thinking of wiping all data and reorganizing before adding custom roms. Do you lose root if you wipe? factory reset? On the flipside, if you WANT to unroot your phone, what is the best way to achieve this?

I was able to unroot and flash my phone back to stock with this method...

wipe does not unroot. the best way to unroot is to RUU back to stock.

I tried downloading the zip files in that post, but they're corrupt. If you try to open them to look inside, it doesn't work. Does that corrupt zip file still work?

Did you try to unzip them before using them to restore your phone.

You're not supposed to, if you did. The recovery program will take care of unzipping for you.
