    Default What is hot boot?

    I am running SkyRaider 4.0 and notice if I long press power button, I get the reboot option and that gives me the option of hot boot. What exactly is hot boot??

    In the plainest of terms, its a faster reboot.

    LOL, I realize that. I just meant is it bypassing something to make it faster? Is it bad to use it on a regular basis, i.e. anytime I feel I need to reboot.

    Haha ok. I think its safe. I believe they way it works is that it stores certain settings and processes when shutting down so that there is much less to be rebooted, making the startup time much less.

    Everyone is correct...

    But its designed function is for things like deleting apps/files or installing apps/files that require the phone to reboot before they are removed/can be used. This truely is its designed function!!
