task killer?

so i successfully rooted my phone. successfully flashed a custom ROM after all this research. i feel very proud of myself as i accomplished all this in a matter of 3 hours or so lol. but now this is where i am stuck.

there is no app market to access. so how/where do i get apps like a task killer and games and what not so that i can free up some space so my battery wont die as fast and can also enjoy games that i used to have and all that cool stuff

Did you wipe your data and cache? On a side note you don't need a task killer and it may cause issues.

yes i did. i followed the guide on the proper way to install a ROM which included clearing data and cache.

I haven't use CM7 yet but I think there is an additional zip you have to flash to get Google services working.

ah! i do recal when downloading it asked if i wanted the extra google apps as well. that would explain a lot. thanks for the help!

hmm well i got the google apps, but market wasnt included. is there another way i am supposed to go about getting apps?

Where did you get your gapps apk at?
This link is off the CM7 thread here in the incredible section.
The market should be in there after you flash it.

thanks for the link. i actually dont have a GAPPS. didnt know i needed one. i saw people talking about them on the forums and was trying to figure out what to do. i just thought it came standard with the ROM.

so how exactly would i go about installing these? is it just like flashing a ROM without clearing cache and stuff?

EDIT: so i installed the file of the link you gave me and it didnt contain the market. im currently hacking a non active phone as like a test of what i am doing to see if i want to hack my actual phone im using. (i have 2 DIncs) so i am not sure if that is part of the reason i dont have the market. been searching for one that has market but still nothing yet. the ones i have found contain stuff like Gmail GTalk news & weather and Car home. nothing with market in it as of yet..

EDIT 2: problem solved, it turns out that i needed to create a google account for the phone. after that i accepted the terms yada yada yada and it gave me a list of apps that i would like to install (market being one of them) lol thanks for all your help guys. cant wait to dig deeper into this. but for now, its time to check out some apps and different things i find on this site. very wonderful haha
