No the phone doesn't come on at all no lights nothing and the computer doesn't recognize the phone being plug in

pull the battery, pull the sim, pull the sd card. let it sit for 10 minutes or so and try again with just the battery in.

I know it seems odd, but that you to help it do a reset....you did get all the way to the point of where it said that odin failed right? you didnt pull the cord while it was still doing its thing...

you are doing this to get to download mode: Make sure odin is open first, then remove battery, put back in, hold both volume keys in, and plug in usb cord.

Okay we took everything out n just put the battery in it didn't work, is it possible to fry the battery... n should everything be back in it before we do the above

the battery should have been out while using odin. I never heard of a battery frying from it. no, do not bother putting it back in, just follow the instructions in my last post and try for download mode again.

If odin just failed and was totally done, you should have either soft bricked it, boot looped it or did absolutely nothing to it. any one of the three are easy to solve. I am kinda stumped as to why it will not turn on at all...trying to do some research on it now

Yay!!!! Its in download mode says its downloading Odin isn't running.... now what? He already uninstalled the Samsung drivers idk how it even recognized it please continue to help me, bc idk

ok odin will always fail (well 99% of the time) if you have the battery in. before I give you detailed instructions on what to do, I need to know what you were trying to do.

Were you installing new ROM? Rooting? let me know and I will give you the step by step on how to fix it

Trying to root it and get the bloat ware off but at the time he was just trying to do a factory reset like restoring it from the gingerbread 2.3. whatever update

ok so lets go with a rooted stock ROM. I take no real credit, the credit is jscott30 over on xda. I am just relaying it to you and making it easier.

first download this:

now the instructions:

1.) Download and extract the zip package.

2.) Place phone in download mode. Make sure odin is open first, then remove battery, put back in, hold both volume keys in, and plug in usb cord.

~~3.) If needed, install latest Samsung USB drivers by installing Samsung Kies from HERE.~~ you said you have them. if not install them from

4.) Open the included Odin exe.

5.) If phone is detected, the window under ID:COM will turn yellow.

6.) Click on "PIT" to browse to and select infuse_gb.pit. Make sure that Re-Partition is selected.

7.) Click on "PDA" to browse to and select PDA_UCLB3.tar.md5.

8.) Click on "PHONE" to browse to and select PHONE_UCLB3.tar.md5.

9.) Click on "Start", and allow Odin to flash the phone. Do not unplug or power off the phone until Odin is finished.

10.) When the Odin dialogue reads "PASS!", the phone should reboot into the stock UCLB3 Setup Wizard.
