ive been through around 10 different roms with the same 2.5-3 mbps. but recently, i installed rcmix3d and i am getting speeds upwards of 8mbps and averaging 5.



is att doing something to limit data speeds on phones like the atrix and non-rooted inspire 4g?

That's really good speed. Unrooted I was getting that same 2.5 to 3 mbps with a (rare) max of 4.5. Now I'm on ARHD with the recommended radio and I'm averaging 4.5 to 5.5 and have hit in the 7s a few times. I do know your speeds are going to vary wildly depending on location and traffic, but I don't think AT&T is throttling speeds anymore.
