Default About time I said Hello

    Hi everyone,
I've been reading AC every since I picked up my HTC Thunderbolt on release, just never worked up the nerve to register. That was my first smartphone, I still own it, and I love it. I'm not a tech guru or anything, but I know my way around well enough, and Apple products drive me absolutely crazy (that whole "streamlining" and "user friendliness" thing just seems to complicate most of the tasks I usually find pretty simple on other platforms, not to mention the inferior hardware at jacked up prices and general fragility of their portable products). My upgrade came about a month before the Tbolt released and I'd played around with a few iPhones, a verizon WP7 (don't remember the model name), Droid X's, Droid 2's, and Evo's. I knew I was going to avoid the iPhone, and nothing about WP7 really sold me, but I liked the Evo a lot and figured I should wait to get an LTE phone anyway, so the Thunderbolt was a great fit. The battery life and misdirected txt messages drove me a little crazy at first, but especially since the Gingerbread update I've been aboslutely in love with it. I also just got a Transformer Prime for the holidays (my birthday is also Christmas and I'm half jewish so it was kind of a combined Birthdachrismanukah present, lol), and man that thing is sweet. I'd been tracking its availability since release since I'm going to be traveling for work early in the new year to try and make sure I get it in time, and I happened to catch a batch that Newegg got in stock on Thursday and so I had it shipped overnight. I'm sure glad I did, its a sweet machine. The only minor gripes I have with it seem to be firmware related. The Wifi radio seems to be working fine, and really aside from Honeycomb feeling a bit buggy every now and then, the thing runs like a dream. Shadowgun is beautiful, really shows off what the Tegra 3 can do. Now I've just got to get the keyboard dock (Newegg didn't get those in, unfortunately) and the ICS update and I'm betting the thing is going to be even more beastly than it already is.

Anyway, that's my android bio. Love the blog and the forums, keep up the good work everyone!
