Default New kid in town seeking Help with Sprint Nexus upgrade to 4.0

    Hi,

I am in route to moving to N. Houston TX from Allen, TX, about 4 hours away. I purchased a Sprint Nexus about six months ago and have been in love with it ever since. Recently, I had a chance to upgrade to 4.0 but developed an error...the Droid with a Triangle and Exclaimation sign. What's up with this? I went into a local Sprint store and did not get any help...any ideas on how to proceed to get the download working? To return to 2.3... I just pop out the battery, but I know I'm missing some great updates. Help needed.

    Welcome to AC.

Let me ask was this Nexus previously rooted? If so what was done to it?

    Hi Paul,

No my phone is not rooted. What is the advantage of being rooted? I went into a Sprint store this pass weekend and a tech fixed the problem. I now have 4.0.4. I'm not sure if I like it. Need more time using.

    Regards,

For now I would give yourself time to adjust to ICS so you can give it a fair and objective opinion. Many are too quick to judge, after all its a new UI and many things have changed. Give it a week or so to get used to the new OS and for you and your device to settle in and see how things go from there.

Rooting, well to make it short and sweet without a lot of detail here... Rooting allows you access to areas of your device that the manufacture & carrier's feel you shouldn't. This could stem from running different apps allowing more control of your device, to flashing modified OS and custom themes.

Best of luck and if you have any more questions feel free to post up in the Nexus S 4G forums and we can handle it there.

    Enjoy.
