Hello, for the love of god please tell me I am not the only one with this issue. I have a Samsung Galaxy R910 Indulge (metro PCS). I downloaded opera mini months ago on a Sony Experia Play. Then moved the SD card to my galaxy. Ever since then I have had issues with the pornographic website Free porn movie & picture galleries - Tiava.com appearing in brower history, and even saving pictures and video in my temporary files folder and SD card. Has anyone ever had this issue with Opera or any other browser. I switched to google chrome but Opera mini conserves more data use.

My first question for you is where have you been getting your version of Opera. Market, apk site, ect. I have used opera mini for a little over a year now and it has never given me any issues. However, I downloaded my version from the google market. If you downloaded the app from an apk site, especially in zip form, can contain spyware/adware, and occasional worms. My guess is your SD card has the spyware on it and since you are using opera mini, that is what the spyware keeps playing with. You can also get spyware from music, videos, and other media. Do yourself a favor and flash the SD card. I bet my IPAD that will solve the issue.

I downloaded opera from iapktop.com, version 5 beta. It was the highest version that android 2.3 would let me run. I am going to trying to scan the card with avg. I can't afford to lose the family pictures on it.

That was your first mistake. Don not waste your time with a virus scanner. I have never seen one of them actually work on an android device. Flash the card, get it over with and move on. Also, don't use torrent apps on cellphones. It is too much of a risk and takes way way way way too long.

If flashing the card doesn't work, factory reset the phone. I use dolphin for a browser, you might want to try that instead. Good luck!

I agree--be very cautious when downloading apps from anywhere besides Google Play, Amazon Apps, or from the actual developer website (in this case, opera.com).

You should immediately uninstall the version of Opera that you installed from that questionable site. Keep in mind that this may not completely remove all of the malware that you probably installed. It would be worthwhile to look at your Downloaded apps list and do a Google search on any suspicious or unrecognized apps that you find, and uninstall any that seem bogus.

Oh, and thanks for including the link. All this Android reading material was getting a little monotonous.:p

That problem with the indulge is that with out phone service you can not access the play store. I also prefer to get the direct .apk incase I for some reason have to reset the phone, that way I do not have to download them again. In this case yes, they caught me and I got screwed but imagine what it looks like to someone else using my phone. I am gonna try and scan the card first, then pull the pictures off and flash it. Other than that there isnt anything worthwhile on it. Probably factory reset the device while i'm at it.

Really, you can't access Google Play without phone service? That's odd--I used to have an unlocked Xperia Play directly from Sony, and was able to access Google Play easily via my wifi connection. What about the Amazon Appstore, can you access that? Remember that when you download apps from either of these stores, it keeps track of them, so that if you do have to reset and reinstall, you can just bring up the list of apps and click install on each of them.

The Experia had no problem with or without service, but the Indulge won't connect to App stores. I can use mobile 9+ or black market (panda). But those download apks.

Yes, this happens a lot. From web browsers to games. Malware can afflict anything. How it affects you is based on the type of programs it is designed for. You got a porn one. Other people get key loggers, some get malware that shuts their phone off randomly. I have had malware down load the same program over and over again, completely killing my bandwidth. Worst part, it did it in the background, almost didn't find it.

Damn you diddy i was gonna post that
