    Default iSheep turned android journey

What's up everyone! I'm new to android, I am a former iSheep what most people would call it.. But yeah.. I was an avid apple product user to the core. You name it I had it.. iPhone, iPad, iPod.. etc.. To me, Apple products were the king of all OS and electronics. In my head Apple products were top. I played with a couple of Android devices but have never owned one. I never dogged android like most iSheep do, I just thought it was ehh.. they copied apple type of deal. I use Google services and love them but never android user. Then iPhone after iPhone after iPhone it was all the same.. iPads after iPad and so forth were all the same. I got bored and it got stale. I paid my hard earn money for something thats always the same. While my other friends that switch to android got.. dual core, quad core, big screen, and neat features. I was stuck with the same thing.. or what apple calls "innovation" After buying my iPhone 5 Verizon.. I realize I just paid money for the same damn thing again. So within the 14 days return/exchange I made the switch to the Galaxy Note 2. All i have to say that OMG this is amazing! Google Android is F'N awesome! I am getting so many many new features and I can customize it the way I want too! Android sold me and made me a believer. All the things I couldnt do on iOS I can now do on Android. After owning my Note for a couple of weeks now everything just fits. I ended up selling my iPad and getting a Nexus 7 tablet. I love android and the OS makes it me. And all these times.. I was brainwashed by evil WTF.. the only apple i own now is and ipod for music and my mac.. everything else went bye bye. It's been almost 2 months now with android and i'm still learning. Sorry if this is long, just wanted to share my story.

Mine is similar to yours. I did try Android for about 5 months in 2011, but the device was wonky so I sold it and went back to iOS. My boredom took over an last summer and I jumped back in with a GS3. The Samsung ads got me. From there I switched to the Note2 and finally switched from my iPad to the Note 10.1.

My next mission is to switch my wife and daughter, but that might be tough, lol. I do still use a Mac for my PC at homecand on the road. I tried going back to a Windows based PC last fall, but it still sucked the way I remembered. I had even stepped up and bought a high end ultra book. Thank goodness for the 90 day return policy at Costco.

I think it will be hard to convert your wife and daughter. Most females that I've seen just go for iPhone because its simple i guess.. and that it's fad thing lol. Mac is ok it works.. I actually played with some Windows 8 PC and really like it, I also have a chromebook that i use on the go. My chrombook and nexus 7 are on the go devices. I think Samsung is doing a great job of innovating and yeah.. those ads really got me too but its true! lol I would want a Note 10.1 but only if I had a the funds lol. I heard its a sweet device. I think android tablets are more "desktop" experience than iPad in my opinion. Android FTW!

If your wife and daughter are happy with iOS why try changing them over?

Welcome to Android, and the forums!! The Note 2 is a very solid device. I have the S3, and got a really good deal at the time I got it $99 last October. If I had more cash probably would have go the Note.

Now, if you really, really, REALLY want your mind blown....download Nova launcher from Play. Free (paid version unlocks some features) don't need to be rooted to run. A launcher like Nova changes the User Interface slightly. Yours being a Samsung is TouchWiz. Nova allows you to customize on the home screens the number of columns and rows, color themes, swiping appearance, rearranging the icons in the dock, number of dock pages....the list goes on. I love this launcher, as it redefines custom.
