Noobie here, learning and maybe jumping ship?!

So glad to discover this community as I contemplate a new toy!

I am a career US Navy Submariner and a self-professed gadget freak, just now looking seriously at an Android device. I work in the tech field and look forward to learning a ton from the folks here! The sum total of my personal Android experience was less than a week with a Motorola Backflip three years ago- less than favorable but I realize things have changed a little since then

I did commit a bit of a faux pa in that my 1st post was in a device forum (here) since I am researching a specific device. After posting it, I re-read it an realized that the vast majority of my questions are general Android to iOS questions so if it is not a huge pain, input on that thread would really be appreciated!

Again, hoping to learn a lot, make an informed decision and have some fun!

Welcome, Loving the pun "Jump ship" and you're in the navy - very cunning.
I found android a bit funny at first but I got the hang of it, its relatively simple but for the more "confusing" stuff there is always an abundant amount of answers online.
