Iím looking to buy a tablet in the next month or 2, and have a few ideas, but need to know If Iím looking at the best solutions.
Firstly, it has to be an Android tablet Ė I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro and very much in the Android ecosystem.
Iíve done lots of research and the Nexus 7 appears to be the champ at the moment. However it has one show stopper for me Ė no expandable memory. This is a must for me.
My original budget was around £150 - £200, and having done some reading, I stumbled upon the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. The reviews for this seem pretty good. It has great specification, pretty much everything I want, and although it didnít appeal to me initially, the S-Penís usefulness has grown on me to the point where I think I Ďneedí it!
The main issue with the Note 8 seems to be the price. It is expensive compared to other tablets, but does have lots of unique and handy features. The build quality seems no worse than your average tablet, and IMO is just as good as the iPad Ė itís just a different material.
So having pretty much convinced myself that this is the tablet for me Ė mainly based on the fact that there are no comparative, budget/mid range, quad core, 7Ē- 8Ē tablets with SD cards slots, I was pretty set on the Note 8.0, and couldnít find anything as good for the same or less money.
However, Iíve also recently come across the Asus MeMoPad HD, which seems to be what I was originally looking for Ė a Nexus 7, with SD card memory. Itís got some great reviews!
Now Iím in a dilemma!
Iíve had a taste for the Note 8.0 and the S-Pen, Iím not sure which Tablet to go for!
If Iíd not spent the last 2-3 weeks reading every review and watching every video I can find on the Note 8.0, I would likely have made the decision on the Asus. But Iíve got the Note 8.0 stuck in my head now. Itís much more expensive, but I can justify that cost in my head (now I know how Apple users feel!).
But should I? Do I spend the extra cash on the Note, or give the cheaper Asus a go?
Has anyone used both? What do you think?
