Default Salutations, From BB to Moto X

    Hi all.

I've had a BB as my first and only smartphone for the past 6+ years but I've grown tired of it and have had a hankering for something new. I didn't want iOS because it looks to be monotonous, I'm trying to move away from iTunes and I don't like the look of the iPhone hardware. I've been reading through the website, trying to absorb all I can about Android and which device to choose for quite some time. I chose and pulled the trigger on the Moto X and it should be arriving soon. I'm beyond excited (read: impatient).

First question: as a newbie (not a total newbie but close enough as I've had an old Samsung phone when I was having BB issues; it was a horrible experience I believe because it was old, so yeah, newbie), when I get the Moto X should I upgrade from whatever version it comes with to Kit Kat or should I learn the software from the old version first, then upgrade?

Welcome to Android Central, and congratulations on your impending Moto X! I would say just go ahead and update. It'll keep nagging you to do so anyway.

    Thank you sir.

I was reading about cache cleanses, factory wipes, something 2x darkside, something 2x complete and other such things. I've done OS leaks and .cod file extractions on my BB but since Android is new to me, I'd feel more comfortable with a tutorial of some sort. Are there videos of the update process available?

Update is pretty simple. Hit yes to accept. Done.

    Thank you sir.

Aha, it's OTA? That'll work for me.

Any videos on the entering recovery, cache clearing, factory reset, rebooting process suggested in the Attention Kit Kat Adopters thread?
