LOOOOONG time Palm type. Still think WebOs is really a beutiful OS that could have and should have been what Android has become. Was planning on limping along to see what HP will (hopefully)n announce soon, but could not pass up an Evo for $99 at Radio Shack.

In all, very very happy with the purchase. Evo is a great phone and $99 is a great price (with free BT headset no less!) it was a no-brainer to pick up.

The one app I miss a lot from my pre is PowerNap, best most intuitive alarm app to take a quick nap. Any suggestions?

Also where is there a detailed disucssion of the various browsers? Stock is OK but wanted to read what others thought of Dolphin and Opera Mini.

Welcome to Android Central - there are thousands of apps to choose from that are in the market. I'm sure you'll find one that suffice. I will admit $99 is a darn good price for a awesome phone like the EVO.

Welcome! Congrats on the great find on your new Evo! I'm familiar with the PowerNap app so I'm not sure what features you're looking for, but the timer in the stock alarm app is pretty easy to use and set up. That might work for you. As far as 3rd party browsers, Dolphin HD is by far the most popular. I personally don't have any issues with the stock browser though. A good place to start is the members favorites section of the forum.
