Thank You Apple for the EVO and Android
For many of us we have Apple to thank for all these wonderful devices and mobile platforms. I am not a big fan of Apple but the truth be told, they have spured competion to the fullest in the mobile phone market.Remember every year we would get a refresh of the Motorola Razr? When I first got the Palm Treo everyone laughed at me for having such a big phone. Now having a 3.5 or greater inch screen is the status quo. It is very hard to say this but THANK YOU STEVE JOBS> Please make more state of the art phones so every one can steal your ideas and make them better and not proprietary.

Apple wasn't the first to put music, video, PDA, and all that jazz in one device.
But anyway, they did make it pretty smooth I guess.
I'm glad they ran the market which probably made Google decide to get in to the market as well.
I feel now Google's running the market.

Regardless of whether you think Apple's products are innovative or not, you have to admit: Their success has spurred all other competitors to up their game. That's something we can be thankful for. Capitalism at it's finest: it works!

Thanks each and every one of yall for keeping it friendly and fun so far.
HTC may have "invented" the first PDA, but Apple turned the market into what it is today (US anyway). RIM, Nokia, Android and Microsoft are just finally leveling it all out. We all benefit.
Android is just trying to leapfrog Apple vs. playing catch up. Seems to be working well, both for Android and Apple fans. The harder they try to get our business, they more they have to offer to us. And maybe the biggest benefits come to RIM and MS users. Look at the huge changes they were forced to make.ಠ_ಠ

Apple was the first to put good hardware and software together and make it work. So I see what the OP is saying.
One thing for sure is that all this is leading to great products for everyone.
