Speed penalty for encryption?

Enabled both device and SD card encryption and the Thinkpad seems to have been really slowed down by this. Transitions to home screen can take over 30 seconds now. I use Truecrypt on laptops, and have not found that encryption perceptibly slows those machines. So I am wondering if anyone else has had the same experience with the encryption on the ThinkPad tablet?

If your IT department requires encryption, then DO NOT use the Thinkpad. We rolled out 35 to our service techs and if I could go back, I would have got them all Android phones instead. The encryption really bogs them down, and the power buttons and charge ports are poorly made. On any given week, I send 1-3 back for repair of the power buttons and/or charge ports.

Thanks, I'll just wipe it -- not too hard to start over. Thanks for the observations... Obviously Lenovo hasn't set the tablet world on fire.
