    Default FROYO on ALLY TODAY!

download that and follow the steps - you can get the Froyo update directly from LG before Verizon pushes it out. Use the Detailed Guide to get you started.

I know this because I did it earlier today

I know a certain teenager that will be a happy camper in a few minutes. Thanks for the heads up on the DL link. 2.1 was being quite a pain in the rear on her Ally. Hopefully this will cure a few of the quirks that was aggrivating her.

Is your LG updater software up to date? USB cable for the phone ok?

Just performed this update a few min ago. Went through just fine on my end.

Great.... after updating, phone is throwing google.framework.gapps force closes. Phone works, but is a lil buggy at the moment. I'll look into it and post back. Prob be a few days.

I guess I've been too fortunate performing all sorts of hacks to Android devices. This one bit me in the back side. LOL

Just reflashed the Ally back to stock. Gonna reroot and restore backup before I dropped 2.2 onto it. Then, unroot and wait for update to come "naturally" to the phone.

This is not working anymore. I even reloaded v6 and ota'ed to v8 to try to get it to work. They must have taken the link down.

No Flash on the market tho'...can't get from Adobe's site. Where's that apk we could grab for the Droid way back...or won't it run on the Ally?
