Verizon 3G sim card pre-installed?
This is just a question to satisfy my curiosity, and possibly help others who might be a little clueless as I was.
Got my phone yesterday. Followed the activation steps and it was taking forever; just hung up on the activation screen. Finally contacted Verizon customer support (via chat), and they couldn't really figure out the problem either. Finally, the CS rep asked me to confirm that the sim card was installed. I sort of thought to myself, duh, how stupid do you think I am? The screen film that came on the phone seemed to clearly indicate that the 4G sim card was installed. I had pulled out the sim tray and saw a sim card installed before I started the activation process. However, when the CS rep asked me to check again, I noticed for the first time that it was a 3G sim card that was pre-installed, and not a 4G card. She suggested I look in the packaging that came with the phone and, sure enough, there was a 4G sim card included. I swapped them out, and it worked like a charm. The CS rep was baffled and agreed that this was very confusing and not something they were aware of. She said she would make a note of it (whether that happened or not, I can't say.)
So, as I say, I'm writing for 2 reasons: 1) to ask if anyone else had this experience; and 2) to share my experience in the hope that it might help someone else avoid the frustration and confusion.
