I have tried everything including the 2 more popular LED apps to get front LED nonotifications sms (Go SMS built in led notifications dont work either) and hotmail but no luck.

I just got my G2 A few days ago but this should be easy to do...at least it is on my Samsung devices.

Any ideas?

Strange.
I have the Sprint version and the GO SMS and the Blink LED settings under the "Notifications settings" is on and works great for me.
Double check that. You can do a "Test Notifications" from that screen. Reminder to turn the screen off during that test to check the blinking.

Just make sure that from the Setting--> Display--> Notification LED is set to ON....... However all the options under it must be"Unchecked"

Then give it a try using Light Flow app.
