    Default Rooted - Now What?

For those of you who have rooted, what have you done with it? I'm not interested in flashing any ROMs yet.

I've installed Auto Hide Soft Keys.

What else is fun, cool, vital, or helpful?

I also like the LMT Launcher. I'm using Auto Hide Soft Keys to supress the soft keys, and LMT Launcher (V2.0 RC5) for navigation.

Here are some of my must-have root apps. Links are in the app's title.

Xposed Framework - Allows a lot of modifications and customization.
G2 Xposed - Performs G2-specific tweaks to your phone after installing the Framework file above.
Greenify - Allows you to hibernate apps that would otherwise stay running and draining battery.
AdAway - Gets rid of advertisements system-wide, including in-browser.
CacheCleaner - Clears cache files. Do not install the newer version of this app. This version is a simple one-tap solution.
Titanium Backup - You can backup your APKs and freeze or uninstall bloatware.
Flashify - If you ever want to install custom recovery or get into flashing ROMs, this app will make it a simple process.

If you are talking about the video on the Auto Hide Soft Keys page, he has a tutorial for it.

    Good list.
Id also recommend ROM manager and xblast tools for xposed.

Get iFont which will give you A LOT more choices for system fonts when you're in the mood to change things up. Very very simple to use. I love Bauhaus.

I'm glad you like it, I love that app as I just change my font to whatever my mood is telling me (but I do have my favorites Bauhaus and Caviar). Also check this out: DroidViews | Make Your LG G2 Perform Faster by Fixing Lag Issue

    Just did this also.
    Thanks again!
My G2 was already lighting fast but tweaks to make it even faster are always welcome.

I just got my G2. I've never rooted a phone, but I want to try it on my G2, and I'm trying to understand if flashing ROMs will require reinstallation of all apps/data/contacts etc on the phone. I imagine I should root right away before I load anything on the phone. However, do I need to decide now what ROMs I may use? If I decide to do ROMs later, will I need to redo all my apps/data/contacts again at a later date.

Also, I read somewhere recently that if you ever want to unlock the bootloader, you should do this immediately. Does rooting a phone also unlock the bootloader? I realize this may be a very basic question, but the answer hasn't been easy to find.

Any help of guidance for a first-time rooter is appreciated.
