Autocorrect getting annoying

Whenever I go to write a colon for a smiley face, or put a quotation mark, it always jumps back to the word I had previously written instead of going where the cursor was. For example, I will be typing and want to put something in quotes, but instead of putting the " where the cursor is (after I press the space button) it removes the space and puts the " at the end of the last word, which is definitely not where I want it.

I'm sorry if I explained that poorly. Is there any way to fix this without turning off autocorrect? I still want that on, but it can be really annoying sometimes. It also capitalizes random words sometimes when I'm typing for no apparent reason. I never had a problem with autocorrect with my Razr.

I know exactly what you mean and couldn't find a setting to change that, try another keyboard like the Google Keyboard in the play store.
