Long story short sprint Asurion replaced my HTC one witha G2 after asking them too, but they gave me a . 7a charger so I went out and bought a 2.1 amp charger.

The USB cables I have tried using don't play nice with the g2 (htc Samsung sprint and a few no brands) they only put out 300ma while charging and some don't even register as charging at all. I went into radio Shack and tried out one of their cables and the phone was drawing about 1300 with the screen on. Is that normal?

Question I have is I'm thinking of getting the mono price premium cables (6 foot) as I've read they play nice with the phone but should I dish out a few extra and get a USB 3.0 cable?

Also what is the max draw you've seen the phone pull?

my vzw g2 charges from 0 to full in 2 hours with oem charger and cable. mine charges at about 1.7a. also, I have a few monoprice usb cables and none charge the phone properly. I had one hooked up to a 1a charger and it charged at 300ma. I have another I plug into a computer and never checked if the power it ran when usb data charging, but it transferred files at what seemed like full speed.

the g2 does not support usb3 electrically or physically. a usb3 micro usb port will not even fit in the phone.

it's my understanding that full speed/fast charging requires a power-only usb cable, which can be purchased for no less than $8. u can also take a standard cable and short 2 wires to do the same thing. there are tutorials on youtube.

have u tried contacting assurian? if so go to a Sprint store or call their customer support. they may give ua replacement for free.

why did u send in the charger to begin with? usually warranty/insurance companies only want the electronic devise and specifically do not want chargers and accessories.

Sent from my Verizon Wireless G2, using unlimited data :)

I found this to work well: PortaPow Specialised 5ft 24AWG Charge Only Micro USB Cable. Use with a 2.1 amp car or home charger.
