First post! I'm getting the LG G3 in about 3 weeks when my upgrade is due. Yes!

I've really enjoyed this thread! Question on the camera and the pictures shared here. Some of the pics are washed out a bit. Is this mainly attributed to the compression when uploaded? Or is that what you get in certain lighting conditions? Other thoughts?

I'm looking forward to my device and contributing to this thread and others!

Cheers!
Doug

The G3 is accurate with its colours. I think the compression is many of the shots obviously impacts them. If you look at my last photo above this is embedded from my Flickr account so shows the true power. I'm impressed a lot by the camera. And I'm a semi pro photographer. It's fast and accurate.

Nice colors in low interior light!
Colors are spot on accurate.

Thanks! I found your Flickr account a few weeks ago when researching the M8. Great photos!

They both have their apparent strengths and weaknesses, but which is your preferred phone between these two? I'm leaning towards the M8. I've played with both in the store numerous times and prefer the quickness of the M8. However, if the camera is noticeably superior on the G3 I will probably get that. The reason it is a difficult choice for me is I see the high quality pictures that you and others have taken with the M8. When the shot is properly composed, the M8 camera is impressive. On the other hand, I've seen several more lower quality shots taken with the M8 vs G3. I'm not even an amateur photographer, but I enjoy taking pics with my phone. So needing a camera with some forgiveness would be a good thing.

In the end I think either will be a great device and experience. I keep looking for a deciding factor, but I don't think one exists.

Mods - If this should be moved to the camera discussion thread, please do so.

Cheers!

My 2 cents...the G3 is MUCH more forgiving with the photos. Almost iphone easy...snap and shoot. The M8 can take some ok shots, but you have to EARN it...settings...adjustments...set up etc.. The G3 is pretty much snap and go.

Quite a mixed selection of photos here. Some seem decent enough but others seem barely passable.

Has anyone got any close up photos with the object as close as possible? Or perhaps some crops to see what the detail is like please?
