It's obvious this is a hardware issue directly relating to screen protectors. Best not to use one for optimal performance.

I'm having the same issues and I've never used a screen protector. It happens mostly in Twitter when you click on a photo to enlarge it(the right side of the photo doesnt work but the left side does. I'ts driving me mad!!). Its only started happening recently so I think it could be an app thats affecting it?? Dont know of any fixes and dont want the hassle of trying a hard reset. Perhaps it could be the last update as it wasnt happening before that.

Just tried re-calibrating the screen and so far (I know its only a few minutes) no issues. I'll see if that continues and repost later.

I have this issue occasionally too, no screen protector and it happens whether the quick circle case is open or closed. Occasionally I have to tap up to 10 times to get it to register.

I have the same phone with Sprint, and the Gold G3. I have noticed touch screen issues, such as not responding when I touch. Then I'll need to black the screen out and try again or press super hard and then it works. I don't have a screen protector on mine, so not sure whats going on with it. I searched online to see if anyone else was having the same issue.
But I doubt it was your screen protector being I don't have one and I'm having the same issue. I calibrated my screen and changed the touch settings to make sure that wasn't the issue. I'm also and IT specialist, I don't think it's anything with the settings of the phones. I think there is something going on with the digitizer picking up on touch. Like not all have issues but some do.Who knows maybe people who don't have issues with it now will have it later. I'm just hoping it doesn't chose to stop working after my warranty period :eek:

I am also having no response mostly on the right side of the screen.
I have an otter box defender on an at&t G3. I originally had a screen protector installed under the otter box. Anal,I know, but you wouldn't believe the amount of crack protection and if anyone has or had a G2 knows a cracked screen renders it completely useless to touch. Anyway with the screen protector it was barely usable. After removing the screen protector from under the otter box made it somewhat better but still has regular issues. Anyone know of a sensitivity adjustment?

I have the tempered glass protector and it does the same thing. I have noticed the dryer that my fingers are the more it will be unresponsive in spots. I blame the tempered glass screen protector

Had the phone for 2 days, dropped it 4" & it cracked, so the Gorilla Glass can't be a guarantee that it won't crack. And the touch screen lack of response started 1 day into owning it. Tried the battery removal many times, calibrating may be necessary. But not holding high hopes.

I had the tampered glass screen protector on since day one. Had issues with sensitivity and dead spots. Finally took it off and the issues have vanished. Was a fairly thick tempered glass protector which may be the reason.

settings gestures motion sensor calibration

That's only for motion sensing. I don't see how that is a way to calibrate touch sensitivity.

I have a tempered glass protector and have noticed problems, mostly when Swyping. It's not a big enough problem that I want to give up the protection, but I would like to see if there is a way to calibrate the screen (without rooting).

I have an otter box defender and I have issues with the screen also. Even with no protector at all I've still had problems with an unresponsive area of the screen. Turning the screen off and back on always fixes it. Wonder if LG is aware of this?

Something that's been noted in the past is that the G3's touch screen has some issues when the phone itself starts to heat up. Unsure if you guys were playing/had games running in the background.

Been playing a lot of Angry birds Epic and Cytus (two very graphic intensive games) and have noticed that there are times when the screen just doesn't register a touch or a drag. This is typically resolved by turning the screen on and off. I have the tempered glass protector as well, and I feel that the issue is only worsened by it, though since it's survived my abuse so far I will leave it on for the time being.

X2. Turning screen off then right back on fixes it. Would love to see this fixed some day.

I have an AT&T G3, black. Has anyone noticed occasional dead spots on the screen where touch isn't working? Doesn't happen every time but when it does, hit usually corrects itself when I shut the screen off and turn it back on. Mine happen towards the tip of the super right corner and around the middle on the right edge. I have a Bodyguardz tempered glass screen protector on it that I bought from AT&T. Could that be the issue?

Sent from my LG-D850 using AC Forums mobile app

I have the LG G3 from AT&T and also noticed this happening on not only my first phone but also the replacement they sent me after major overheating issues.
Seems to be an issue with the screen or laggy OS but I too have a glass screen protector and it does it at random times.
Also all screen protectors can be cleaned and reused.
Look up how to clean a screen protector on YT.
I have already removed and cleaned blemishes of lint, fingerprints and hair with no problem.
I read somewhere that you can go to accessibility settings and take a look around, there are three things to look at in there.
I have noticed the problem being the same with or without the SP.
Also it causes some letters not to enter on the keyboard.
