I love widgets. I only have 3. Flashlight, clock/weather and Gmail. I also disabled bloat.

I'd rather keep my knock-off ability and put up with the TINY amount of 'lag' on my device.

I use to have nova on my galaxy phones paid version of course. I never had the need to put it on my LG g2, however this one is a different case. I would put nova if it didn't interfer with knock off.

De-bloated useless apps and it's running very well.

Try Screen off and Lock from the play store and assign to Nova's Double tap gesture. Works great!

Ditto. I've been wondering what the heck people are talking about. I switched launcher just because I like customizing in Nova better, but there's NOTHING wrong with the stock launcher.

I wish these manufacturers would simply get it right out of the box rather than leaving it up to us to debloat. Regular consumers aren't going to know about that. They're going to see jitters on a brand new phone and be disappointed. And I don't blame them. Motorola and Sony seem to be the only ones who get that, followed closely by HTC. Samsung and LG skins are too heavy.

    How's this...

I was being nice. The phone is slow. slow. slow. Like an HTC Hero or Galaxy Nexus. The LG G2 is really fast. LG is already addressing this with the "LG G3 Prime." Don't get snarky...jeez. I thought forums were about people helping each other..

LG G3 Prime officially announced as LG G3 Cat.6 [update] - AndroidPIT

EDIT: I guess I can also add... If there was not an issue with this phone being "laggy" or "choppy" then why is the net filled with "LG G3 lag" or "LG G3 slow / choppy" or some combination of that? Sheesh.
Honestly, when you make arrogant comments like "the folks on here that say there is no lag and that the speed is amazing. It simply is not.", you should expect snark because you are putting people on the defensive. YOU may be having issues with YOUR G3, but that does not mean everyone is. Many people are not experiencing any of the lag or choppiness you're complaining about. Does that mean they are in denial or lying? No. It means your particular device is having an issue, either due to an app not playing nicely or you might have gotten a defective device. It happens.

It has nothing to do with the manufacturers. It's the carriers that insist on filling devices with tons of crapware.

Games don't run as smoothly as the latest 1080 S801 flagships for me. I can see the stutter. Same with the UI at times even with Nova, its just not as smooth. Makes sense really as the S801 is having to render more pixels than the 1080 phones. I kind of wish I waited for the S805 version (which is being released worldwide in Septemeber according to the news yesterday).

TW lag? As in TouchWiz? TouchWiz is not on LG G3.

i tried using nova launcher and I lost knock on/off function and the settings icon in the notification drop down doesn't work anymore. Any thoughts?
You didn't lose the knock on ability, just the knock off with nova launcher, but that's easily fixed. Just download a knock on/off app. Then go into Nova gesture settings and select the knock off/on app for the double tap gesture. You may need the paid version, that's what I have.

I have g3 on Verizon I got rid of extra screens and full page widgets. Disabled bloat and I am totally lag free on LG launcher. I'm normally a nova prime guy but always give stock launcher a chance. This is the best stock launcher I've used so far.

There are some UI hiccups with this phone.... LG completely overhauled the interface and loaded it on a display that has a MUCH higher resolution. That the UI has some optimization issues on first phone launched with that combination isn't a surprise. It's not a hardware limitation either... I did some side by side stuff with my wife's Nexus 5... and sometimes the Nexus would beat the G3 to the punch, other times the G3 would zip though a half step quicker. A hardware limitation wouldn't be intermittent like that.

Running the AOSP builds, which also eliminated those burps reinforced that belief. LG's Optimus UI, in G3 clothing, needed a little bit of work. And I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that the issues can be addressed because they HAVE been addressed. I've been running CloudyG3 for a few days now and it's UI performance is on par with the G3's AOSP builds AND my Nexus 5 reference device. So either CloudyFA is some android savant and did more to optimize the G3's software than all of the engineers over at LG, or the international 10M base which Cloudy is based on got the framework updates that addressed the problems... .and us poor saps here in the US just haven't got the new code yet.

Knock off works with Nova, simply double tap up the the notification bar area. No need to download yet another app.
