Perhaps it does sound creepy. However, you can just not save the recording or discard it during the call.
That said, it's like a screen protector, or insurance, etc. If you don't have it when you need it, it's too late; especially for service calls, making appointments, tech support, complaints, etc. After the call is recorded, if I choose to keep the recording, then when I next connect to wi-fi, the file in mp3 format is automatically uploaded to dropbox, deleted locally, and separated into folders by month and caller/callee. I also have an app that adds the call to my calendar so I can look it up fast and then go to dropbox to grab the recording if I need it. Quite nifty really.
Do I record when I order pizza or call a friend? No, of course not -- but one never knows if a recording may save the day.
