Back up my data

Under settings I can choose to have google back up my data. Anyone do this and what do you think? I have never checked the box to do so. Thanks

Go for it. One day you might need to use the backup.

I use Helium to back up my data and send copies of the backup to my computer and Google Drive. That way I have a backup if the phone crashes, the house burns down or California slips into the Pacific. (All my apps - as apk files - are backed up that way too. And my contacts. My texts aren't anything I need to preserve for my descendants.)
