Should there be a "white light" along the left edge when you unlock?

I have a new LG G3. Love it. Except I have a question to determine if I have a lemon or not.

When I unlock the phone, the home screen comes up and for just a second, the left side of the screen is lit up brighter than the rest of the screen. It's sort of white. It then fades to show the beautiful home screen (well, I might be biased). Is this normal?

It's only when I use the pattern lock. Which I like.

Can you check yours?

In case someone else has this problem, I'll answer my own question. After actually exchanging the phone and hours of "play" with it, I discovered the glitch. It only happens when you are using the "dew drops" or "raindrops" (I don't know what it's called and my phone isn't with me now) pattern lock. If you use the basic or balloons one, it doesn't happen. So, it's some sort of flaw in the system but you can avoid it by not using that pattern lock. Unfortunately, it's a really cool pattern. There you have it!
