PLEASE help: Do I lose phone carrier unlock when I change firmware/reset/unroot/change roms?

I am eventually gonna unroot and flash stock firmware back onto my rooted LG G3 ATT. I however did purchase an unlock code and unlocked it in prep for my japan trip. Will I lose that region carrier unlock if I revert and flash to stock firmware and unroot?

Does this apply to all android phones by the way? Please help.

It shouldn't. If it does, the same code will unlock it again.
