Why doesn't my new LG G3 show up on any Windows PC when using wifi?

New LG G3 vs Wifi

Here's a weird situation, and maybe there's merely a setting problem, but my new G3 does not appear on any WindowsPCs (W7 File Explorer), when using wifi. It should appear under "network". Instead, it only appears under "computer" when connected with a USB cable. Apple-based PCs have no problem seeing the phone on the network. I use Fing on everything but the W7 PC. On that PC, I use file explorer, or Motohome Viewer (where it does appear), because I have a Motorola Netopia gateway (2247-B).

p.s. On the PC, LG Suite wouldn't work. I think it had a hard time finding the drivers that would make it work.

Windows 8.1 (both my desktop and my wife's laptop). My Windows 7 laptop. Note 3 running 4.4.2. My wife's Note 3 running 5.0. Same thing. Samsung Precedent running custom Gingerbread ROM. Same thing.

Evidently it's normal.
