Is this a 5.0 thing? My first g3 got hot hot hot, CPU all 4 cores 40-75% during a few app open use. Had it factory restored. Worked of for a day. Added back snapchat facebook and a few others. Started lagging and unresponsive keyboard...on any app.....

I had it swapped out today for a new one. Lagging is gone but the cpu is still wayyyyy high using normal apps not even gamed on it yet. And its still warm like the last one. This is during facebook an internet forum and texting use. My GS3 never ever got even warm doing this stuff. Should I have gone Note 4? I love it to pieces otherwise!!

Whats up?

Post up your battery usage stats and let's see.
My G3 is just fine, it's and International, unlocked, non-carrier branded running on AT&T.
What carrier are you using ?

Ok i had to get off mobile. Screenshots added. Please let me k ow of any others needed.

I dont really see any fix for this. All 4 cores are at 65% right now. That is insane. The batt stats wont show much. The phone will just be hot all the time when used. I wish i went with a note 4 like i was thinking of doing.

1. ALWAYS fully charge the phone when you get it, then an additional 15 minutes. (The instant it says 100%, it's at about 98%.)

2. Try to never let it get below 40%, unless you like paying for new batteries. Running down to 20% regularly cuts the life in half or less.

3. If the replacement is no good, have IT replaced. (LG is losing money on each replacement. If people started taking advantage of the warranty, maybe it would cost the manufacturers enough that they'd make sure they shipped good phones in the first place.) Just keep returning bad phones and if they tell you that they only replace with a new phone for the first 15 days, remind them that the clock hasn't started ticking yet, since you haven't received a working phone yet. AT&T's Device Support Centers are usually pretty good, and they'll keep working with you if they happened to have gotten a shipment of duds.

I was on the move all day. Tonite its getting a full charge. Staying above 40% will be a challenge.

My warranty runs out next april. I dont know any way to stop the clock on that.

phone is on 95% now. I woke up, unoligged it from the charger (fully cool), checked facebook, texted someone, posted on fb, and checked the forums and now the phone is hot. The cpu is at 55-75% across all 4 cores unless i put the phone down and dont do ANYTHING. Its hot enough to be uncomfortable in my hand.

Guess this one is going back too :).

How long does it take for them to do the warranty claim? It's hard having no phone but I might have to do a warranty claim too.

Its a 2 part deal:

1. Complain and the do a factory restore.
2. Complain again and they swap the phone.

Go to a full out att customer service equipped store and they can do it there on the spot.

Oh I didn't think AT&T would do that, that would be perfect then since there's one close by to my place and I have a D850.

So as long as my phone is under the one year warranty they would replace it? I've been thinking I have to send it to LG's repair facility and wait for almost a week.
