rooting LG G3 but getting device not found

while rooting my LG G3 I made it to the step where you start the firmware update. now my phone is stuck on the update screen at 0% and the cmd prompt is saying error device not found. what do I do to fix this? thanks

Do you have the proper LG drivers installed?

What firmware version is your G3 currently on, and what method are you using? These are very important to detail.

From the sound of it, you have a driver problem with the PC.
