when the cord is plugged into the phone there is not visual indication the phone is charging. However, after removing the cable after a while the battery indicator rises showing the phone was charged. Also, when the cord is connected to the phone i'm not able to get computer/car to recognize the phone. Anyone have any thoughts?

Not sure if the cable can also be part of the issue... What happens when you use a different cable?

I would contact LG customer support online. They are usually quite prompt in responding to emails. Please keep us updated!

If this issue persists in Safe Mode and doesn't change if you switch out chargers, I feel like this may needs to be investigated by a professional. How long have you had your G3?

A year and a half into a phone's "lifetime," it can certainly develop issues or wear and tear over time, but I would still contact LG and see what they say; or go to your local carrier and see if they can give you a quote on how much it would cost to fix the phone if there is a problem that can be fixed.
