I started doing this in another thread, but i decided it might be nice to start a new thread.

I am doing a test, running the display brightness in Auto, manually syncing my email, and only running the Google syncing on services i actually use.

You can go to Settings-General-Accounts & Sync. From there, you can set how often you want your email synced, and if you go to Google, you can set the individual syncing on pretty much everything Google syncs on your phone.

Below are the screen pics of battery usage, and SOT. I am not charging my phone at all during this time.

Does adjusting the email sync really make a big difference?

Any time your phone syncs, it uses resources and your battery. In my opinion, LG has made it overly aggressive (or maybe its Google that did). Anyhow, as seen from above, the results thus far are encouraging!

I've done countless battery tests with my G3 so I like this sort of post. It took my phone a while to optimize and then time again to optimize after upgrading to Lollipop. People should run the phone for a few weeks before judging performance and battery life. Just a thought.

The G4 still has LG's Access Lock menu from the G3. You can access it by following these steps. http://www.androidbeat.com/2015/01/enable-hidden-permissions-manager-access-lock-lg-g3/

There's another way to do it i found in XDA that i used on my G3 that doesn't require changing launchers but i don't have it right off hand.

It's no xprivacy, but it helped me get control of some apps that were using gps when they shouldn't be and deny some permissions that i didn't think apps should have.

Greenify is a must, I think. Just to have some extra juice.

I have great TMO service in my area so using WIFI actually drains mine. I can't wait to see what people come up with to save juice on this bad boy.

As they say in non-Android forums, "You win the Internet today!" With all the people posting how much they hate the battery (frankly it's not that important to me... I've been limping along with my Note2 for so long now that anything would be a pleasure), what we need is some constructive ideas of how to improve the situation.

Once I've got my G4 (sometime soon after June 19th in Canada... yeah!) I'll certainly post things that help.

I honestly think that many people writing in to complain about battery performance aren't really looking for help or advice, they're just [language removed by mod] off and want to tell the world. Good to see posts like yours.

What about location?

I've been keeping mine on because I'm using LG Health, which I know will hit my battery.

I have mine set for GPS, no Wi-Fi or network for location. I then use Access Lock that i mentioned a couple posts up to remove access from apps i don't want running rogue with it.

I have been using High Accuracy on my location settings. I had forgot About that setting.. Lol. Had i remembered, i would have done GPS or Battery Saver mode instead. For the purpose of this test, i will leave in High Accuracy.

There is no fixing this battery..i have virtually everything off and its still trash

So I use nova, and can't find neither shortcuts nor activities. Doesn't look like androidbeat showed. Thoughts?
