G4 camera app vs. other camera apps that provide manual controls

Just curious.. has anyone tried any other camera app from the Play Store that provides similar functions to the LG one, but may be better?

Perhaps one like this? https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...token=AdOrMGhh[m.flavionet.android.camera.pro

Or this? https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera2&token=LuehOnt6

Thoughts? Opinions?

No but have been thinking about it because I'm having a hard time seeing the settings in bright situations.

Your first link didn't work for me... what was the name of the app?

EDIT: I found the app: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ionet.android.camera.pro&hl=en&token=Jaul2pcz , lite version: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...onet.android.camera.lite&hl=en&token=rEIDP3jM

Also, here's a review of Manual Camera: http://www.droid-life.com/2015/01/1...ext-purchase-if-you-own-a-nexus-5-or-nexus-6/ (the "vipek" camera app)

I have FV-5 on my G3 and it comes on at full brightness. Battery-draining no doubt, but you can always see what you're looking at.

You can use Tasker to do that for any app - have it use full brightness for certain apps. I believe, although I haven't yet tried it, that Lux can do this as well.

Here's a screenshot of my tasker job that manages app brightness - not really easy, but it works.

You can uncheck the brightness setting in the viewfinder menu.

^^^You're right! I have hardly used the app and not fully explored the settings yet. Thx!

I've just tried the Vipek manual camera app and it will not open on my phone... I found this out within the refund period, so I quickly uninstalled and had my money refunded.

Has anyone managed to get the Vipek manual camera app to work?

Also, here's an XDA article all about API2 camera apps, including a comparison chart: http://www.xda-developers.com/top-4-camera-apps-for-lollipops-new-api/
