Guess what - they have problems with their phones just like us! And when they do have problems, just like over here, more frequent than not they don't provide much info in the first post. Other forum members have to drag it out of them. Also, the S6 folks are a little more hysterical. We're more laid back. Maybe because we can remove our batteries and sd? The more I read these forums I wonder if we take our frustrations in other areas of life and project them on our phones. What do you think? It's almost as if some want their phones to be bad!

I'll keep my G4, thank you. Anyone that wants an S6 (or any other phone) - go for it!

But in all seriousness - AC is a great place to have questions answered and problems solved.

More people have the s6, so more people will have problems. As you mentioned above, most of the time we need to drag out more information in order to help someone. I find it hard to become a regular in the S6 forums due to so many random people complaining about something that isn't Samsungs fault. Hopefully in a few months it'll calm down

I noticed that people with problems are the ones that are more likely to linger around. That can make the phone look like it has nothing but problems. People that love it usually make their "omg so happy" post but that's it, and those get buried fast.

Exactly; that's why this forum can sometimes seem downright depressing... the people who are having good experiences are far less likely to post anything. For every 1 person posting a problem, there likely 9 people (I'm just making up numbers, of course) who are happy and not even coming to the forum.

That's my beef with the latest "62% of LG G4's have touchscreen problems!" scare... really the vast majority of people without screen problems a) will never make it to the site that had the poll, and b) even if they did see it, are less likely to bother voting in the poll. That's why not one AC, Mobile Syrup, or Android Authority reviewer has reported a touchscreen problem. Does the problem exist? For some, probably yes. But there's no way that 60% of screens have this issue.

It's also a nice feeling being able to help someone, when they want to be helped. Too many trolls stalk these forums. Maybe we need to unite and post more positive posts to outweigh the negatives lol.

All phone iterations have problem childs. Fact of life lol

and yes, ANDROID CENTRAL IS AWESOME!

The thing that gets me is that some with problems just give up and write the phone off. I get it: it's your money and your time... But there was something about the phone that made you want it in the first place, right? More likely several things, and in the case of the G4, chances are that those things can't be found elsewhere. I'm one of the few whose phone has a genuine hardware defect (certainly much more serious than software glitches), but you can be damn sure that when this G4 is replaced, it'll be replaced by another G4. And if that one has problems? I'll do it again. The G4 is the phone for me, and I refuse to settle for anything else. There are always a few lemons out there, but out of the last 9 Android phones I've bought for myself and my family, this is the first one I've received. I consider those good odds.

Well funny you bring this up and great thread btw. I am one of those happy S6E owners but haven't been inclined to post over in that far land. I have had a look but never been inclined to post as positivity will be over run by negativity.

I find it here in the G4 forum whilst people do raise problems they are experiencing. The overall thread creation and talk is positive despite the negative and this transpires because we are constructive 😀

I had hardware issues too.. But I don't own several top end flagship phones to use till things get sorted out.

As much as I loved my g4 I couldn't deal with the issues it had, and seeing the same thing on 5 other brand new phones was enough to make me give mine back. There comes a point where you cut your losses and move on to something else.

I know that LG will get things sorted out and when they do I'll try them again, but I won't slam any oem because I had issues... as the op stated all phones have issues especially when they are brand new. All I have to say is don't discount other people's complaints and think because your phone is perfect that the problem is with the other person.. I thought this because I didn't have any problems but it changed over night... When enough people who do have similar issues are complaining there usually is a problem with the phone. I think you all will see more and more people complaing about dead batteries over night and phones loosing WiFi and cell signals.. Cause my gut feeling is that there is a big problem with this... I hope I am wrong but I have seen things like this before with other oems

I understand what you're saying, and I don't discount other's complaints, my phone isn't perfect, and I don't think the problem is with the person. Really sorry that you had such a bad experience, dude. I'm just stating my personal opinion, and it's that with so many reports of perfectly, fully functional G4s, the problem devices aren't across the board, and that makes it worth it to me to stick it out until I get what I want. But again, it's your time and money, so while I may not understand, I certainly respect your decision.

I've had palms, pocket pc's and many different smart phones. All the forums have been filled with many different issues. What I find different today than in the past is people have less tolerance for issues. In the past it seemed more people were looking for solutions to solve the issues. Today with many more options available to us in the market more tend to just move on and try something else. Although I'm not one to quickly switch, I'm grateful for those who are. I think they make the manufactures work harder to make the better products. Each device I've had has been better than the last. I'm sure the day will come soon that we'll seldom have to join a site too work out problems.

Look at cars. It wasn't long ago that you couldn't go 10,000 miles without doing something. Now you drive 100,000 and only change the oil and maybe a set of tires.

Really cool idea for a thread honestly; just a simple discussion about the AC forum communities, getting new devices, etc. :-)
People I know in person sometimes tease me for being part of a phone forum (or even being so into phones in the first place); but I just liken it to them being all into their favorite sports teams or something similar, and they shut up quite fast. ;-P

In the end, it's all just about a sense of community.<3

G4 here, no problems at all. Have the tempered glass on. Knock works great. Will say it works better when holding it. Downloaded LG themes work great. Battery is awesome. I charge mine during the evening around 5-6 pm, Wake up at 5 am with 95% battery left. I do leave wifi on during the night. So, here's a positive, G4 working AWESOME. I came from the uggggg droid turbo (hated that phone). lol

Ah, the LG 100%-battery-for-a-bizarre-length-of-time thing!

I charge overnight, and usually I'n on 100% for about 90mins or even 2hrs with normal usage until it drops to 99%, and then goes down in a much more normal manner.

I know it's kind of irrelevant as the battery lasts as long as it lasts, but I do wish they just get the battery to battery graph ratio correct at some stage. I've never been able to see the point of it, and, as far as I know, no other OEM does it?

I wonder if it's a kind of subtle "marketing-type" improvement.

Like when car companies make the throttle pedal extra-sensitive when you first start to press it down. It gives the impression that the engine is more powerful than it really is, because the throttle opened 30%, when you only moved the pedal by 10%.

It would seem that they could get this "right" if they chose. It's just relating voltage to percent-of-charge, but they are treating everything above 4.3V (or whatever) as being 100%-full.

My S3 kind of works the other way, when it reaches maybe the last 20%, it drops extra-fast. So I really need to stay away from fully draining the battery.
