AT&T Version and Persistent Touch Screen Issues

I thought an update was sent out to fix this. Mine is bad. I can't even confidently type a sentence without touches not being recorded. Heck, I can't even send the message many times unless I deliberately touch and hold the send button. Did ATT send out the update that LG released? I never saw that I received it. This is getting beyond frustrating... Everything else I love about the phone, but an unresponsive keyboard is a huge deal.

Is it only the keyboard that has poor touch response, or does it also happen with any other touches for other apps? Do 3rd party keyboards work any better?

I think it's the entire screen... The double-tap to sleep and to wake isn't reliable and I typically touch the higher half of the screen for that. I'm currently using Swift Key and still see the problem.

Just out of curosity, do you use haptic feedback? Turn the vibrations and sounds off on your keyboard and see if it improves performance (it usually does). I'm lucky in that I hate that anyway, so I don't use it.

AT&T did send out an update a little while ago. Which software version are you on? Mine is with the "G" at the end (H10H10G or whatever it is)

I have been plagued by this and switching to Google's version of swipe changed my world.... No keyboard issues.
Make sure to download sgs screen touch app also.

Have you read through the touchscreen issue threads in this sticky http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=544443 ? Have you tried SGS?

Switching to a keyboard other than stock and using the SGS screen booster app cleared things up for mine on AT&T. Was having the same exact issues before though.

What settings did you use on SGS?

I initially set mine to "optimized" and just now (thanks to your post) tried setting it to "super optimized"... and I think it actually works better, with fewer mis-clicks on the swiftkey keyboard. (Note: when you make a change, and you confirm it, you should stop/start the service -- long click the multi-task home key to get to settings -- so that your changes take place right away.)

Thanks I will play around with it!
