Why is the system data taking up nearly half of my storage?

I am having a hard time finding stuff to delete, because the System Data is taking up more and more of my storage. Is there any way I can reclaim most of it back? I transferred most, if not all, of the storage consuming apps to my SD card.

Seems like a reasonable amount for the OS to take up.

On my own unlocked International G4 it's 9.44GB....not so very different.

Mine is 9.6 as well.

However, try seeking out the caches of your web browsers as well as any games that did in-game downloads, like most MMO's that download data as they need it. I discovered that in some cases this data is regarded as temporary files and classified as system data. When I uninstalled an app that downloaded stuff this way I found I was unable to delete it. I had lost about 3gb on a 16gb phone, the only way to get it back was a factory reset.
