Selfie mode issues

Help. Just got this phone a few months ago and it's been great. However, something's wrong with the settings on my camera and I can't figure it out. When I'm ready to shoot, it's fine. But when I got into Selfie Mode, the whole picture is cropped. Any ideas how to fix that?

Try turning the flash off. The outer edge illuminates to brighten the subject with the flash on.

This. And fyi, the picture isn't being cropped. It's still taking a full frame picture with the flash on, only the preview is shrunk to allow for the extra screen illumination. Turning the flash off won't give you any additional viewing in the actual picture.
